6.6 Who's next?
Once you feel like you’re doing well with discovery interviews and deepening questions, you might want to think about the next step. Here are some options…
Stick with A’s.
Maybe you’ve found out that you’re really good at helping A’s go deep, and you love doing it, and you want to make that your specialty. You wouldn’t do these interviews as a trade, but as a gift to activists you care about.
Pursue B’s
Maybe you feel called to bring more people into the movement, which means you’ll be looking for B’s to interview and talk with.
Which particular B’s will you choose? Maybe you’re a teacher and want to connect with other teachers. Or you’re a nurse and have access to lots of other nurses. Or maybe you want to focus on people who show up at City Council meetings fairly often. Or you might ask friends about people they think are B’s who they could refer you to.
Target key C’s.
Maybe you decide to make an exception for selected C’s, maybe ones who are political influencers in your community. Maybe you ask one or two of them if you can interview them. You look for points of entry into an ongoing relationship where maybe you can develop some level of influence with them.
Family members.
Maybe as you develop mastery of the discovery interview and deepening questions, you decide you’re ready to open conversations with family members who are B’s or C’s in hopes of finding common ground and bringing new life to those relationships.
